The ����logo��� and the University College London Hospital for the first time in Albania presented the Trans esophageal Echocardiography, the newest imagery method in diagnosing and examining accurately the heart diseases.

The ����logo��� has signed an important agreement with the University College London Hospital, through which renowned cardiologists and cardio surgeon British professors will soon cooperate with the medical staff of the ����logo���. In the framework of this agreement, on Wednesday, at 09h00, the ����logo��� in cooperation with the University College London Hospital organized a two Seminar on Cardiology.

In this seminar, all the cardiologists and cardio surgeons participating from the country were informed about the foreign experience and the newest methods of diagnosis of the heart diseases.

This seminar on “Trans esophageal Echocardiography” was held in the Hotel Tirana International, where two cardio surgeons from the ����logo��� Dr. Besnik Kojqiqi, Dr. Arben Kojqiqi, and the cardiologists Dr. Alfred Nona and Dr. Nereida Xhabija referred their topics regarding their research work in order for the participants to get to know accurately and to appreciate the importance of the trans esophageal echocardiography in diagnosing heart diseases before and after the operation phase.

In addition, the well-known cardiologists from University College London Hospital, Prof. Dr. Andrew Smith and Prof. Dr. Vivek Sivaraman, important invitees in this two day seminar, brought the foreign practice in the field of Cardiology, and they presented the new methods of diagnosis and the most advanced treatments in a series of heart diseases.

The ����logo���, the first and the biggest health institution in Albania continues successfully the realization of the transplants, where recently the liver transplant was realized.

The doctors of this hospital realized successfully the liver transplant to a 34 year old patient, B. Xh. who underwent more than two weeks ago the liver transplant in the ����logo���. The specialized team made up of foreign and Albanian doctors like Prof. Dr. Sadik Ersoz, Dr. Kadir Burak Koza and Dr. Arben Murati, general surgeons have successfully realized this particular and difficult intervention for the surgery in the country.

The patient was diagnosed with hepatitis B, which had caused liver cirrhosis. The donor for this patient was his 60 year old mother, who after the proper examination, the doctors made sure that her liver was suitable for this transplant.

This intervention, the first of its kind not only in the Albanian medicine, but also in the regional one, was realized successfully.

According to the ����logo��� doctors, the patient and his mother are in good health conditions and have faced successfully this intervention together.

The Albanian Football Federation and the ����logo��� in Tirana have made official today in the premises of AFF their 10 year collaboration agreement, where the national football team shall have the needed health support from the specialized staff of the ����logo���.

The agreement was signed by the General Secretary of AFF, Mr. Ilir Shulku, and the ����logo��� Director, Mr. Klodian Allajbeu, who in the presence of the media at a press conference made public that this agreement is useful for our national team. This important agreement with a duration of 10 years includes in addition the entire Albanian football that is a member of AFF, thus the super league teams and the teams of registered age groups in the Football Federation.

The ����logo��� Director, Mr. Allajbeu made known that the ����logo��� under this signed agreement serves both to our national team, and the Albanian football.

Meanwhile, the AFF secretary, Mr.Shulku declared to the media that AFF and the ����logo��� are concluding this agreement in the service of the Albanian football needs.

����logo��� opened its doors to foreign patients, who choose to receive specialized medical services and trust the professional team of doctors with their health.

Mr. Christian Dang, from Austria, as a result of a road accident in a tour, he had made in several states, including our country, was transported immediately from the local hospital of Elbasan to the ����logo��� 1 in Tirana. Dr. Artan Bano, surgeon and orthoped says that the patient underwent a surgical orthopedic intervention, as a result of a pulmonary contusion and the damage in the spinal cord. He is now in very good health conditions and is expected to leave the hospital after several days of hospitalization.

Mr. Dang says that apart from the very good service quality, the medical service costs in Albania are very low. Other foreign citizens are also in the waiting list of the Hospital, who want to be treated in the ����logo���.

Albanian patients have often gone to foreign hospitals abroad to receive specialized medical services, but today the contrary is happening. The ����logo��� has managed to attract towards Albania foreign patients, who seek to be treated in our country, because the service quality is very high.

According to the Director of the ����logo��� 1 in Tirana, Mario Karaj, the ����logo��� has been working for 2 years to urge and develop the medical tourism in Albania, achieving every needed certification reaching, like this, high standards of professionalism, in the health aspects, doctors’ professionalism and all the necessary means to keep this standard.

The ����logo��� in Tirana has successfully a very delicate surgery of the aorta. For the first time, the aortic aneurysm is a disease spread a lot at different age groups, which can now be cured in this hospital.

The doctors of the cardio surgery department at the ����logo���, led by the Turkish doctor, the cardio surgeon Prof. Dr. Neyyir Tuncay Eren has finalized successfully this kind of intervention with the 39 year old patient, Artan Çupi.

The patient’s diagnosis is an aortic dissection of type B. At first, seeing that the patient’s condition was calm and stable, we decided to continue the medical treatment of the patient. But 15 days later, we discovered an enlargement of the aorta, which could cause its breaking. For this reason we decided to insert an artificial graft to eliminate this enlargement. This method, which has eliminated high risk operations, spreads a lot in the recent years and in Albania was realized for the first time only in the ����logo���” – say Prof. Dr. Neyyir Tuncay Eren, cardio surgeon at the ����logo���.

Aorta operations are complicated and being risky procedures they require an advanced technology and specialized staff. Further on, the ����logo��� has carried out successful operations for all aorta pathologies.

“Compared to the open surgery, insertion of the endovascular graft (Evar and TEVAR) Tevar are interventions, which are less risky and are easily applied to sick patients. Sometimes we have performed combined procedures called Hybrid Operations, in special cases” said Prof. Dr. Neyyir Tuncay Eren.

��This building, completely new, with an area of 6000 m2, positioned close to the Faculty of Medicine in the Dibra Street is the biggest investment of shareholders of this group in Albania and exceeds the amount of 20 million Euros. Functionality of the building of the ����logo��� 2 is planned, structured and referred to ISO standards, for which this hospital is already certified and the standards of Joint Commission International, the highest accrediting international authority for the hospital service.

The ����logo��� 2, which comes as a result of the increase of the requests for the ����logo��� in Lapraka, shall be complementary to the existing one. The activity of the new hospital will be mainly focused on births, gynecological surgery, general surgery, orthopedics, urology and plastic surgery. But not only. One of the strong points, at the same time the biggest part of the new investment, is the Center of Reproduction, Health and In Vitro Fertilization and the first and only Laboratory of Andrology – Embriology in Albania.

The newest ����logo��� has 9 floors, 23 polyclinic rooms, 58 single rooms, 5 suites (VIP), 3 birth rooms, 3 surgery rooms; reanimation with 8 beds for adults and one reanimation for the newly-born, unique in its kind, with the most advanced equipment in this area. For the first time, the only hospital in the country, the ����logo���, organized a national conference in cooperation with Mother Theresa QSU. The first and only authentic medical journal in Albanian came into existence: VITAL

Two sisters from Has, Rediana and Suada Mullaj, respectively 10 and 7 years old, born of deaf-mute parents, underwent an eye surgery in the ����logo��� in Tirana, to correct the congenital cataract.

The congenital cataract surgery, or differently called born with a cataract, is an intervention needing not only a prepared team and expertise in this diagnosis but also a modern methodology and equipment. This surgery made possible by the ����logo��� in cooperation with the Albanian Children Foundation is a result of common projects these institutions have undertaken.

The free examination of the eye health of about 180 children in the elementary school Ahmet Gashi in Tirana has been one of the most valuable projects of the Foundation and the ����logo���. The early diagnosis of eye problems was given its proper importance and the problematic cases were treated. An example of these cases is these girls that after the surgery their eyesight has increased in the operated eye and they will undergo surgery for the other eye within the next week.

On behalf of the Albanian Children Foundation, Mr. Liri Berisha, President of the Foundation and on behalf of the ����logo��� Mr. Klodian Allajbeu, General Director of the hospital, have expressed several times their engagement for the continuity of these common projects that will help children with different help problems, mainly not treated in the country.

The Eye Centre at the ����logo���, Last Word Technology

The only ophthalmologic center in Albania that offers the latest technology services attracts numerous patients from in and out of the country.

Currently,the Eye Center at the ����logo��� provides the widest range ofexaminations and surgical procedures for a modern ophthalmological clinic.

The centre provides services for children and adults and treats all the eye pathologies and it has become a point of reference in Albania and in the region.With a staff of 6 members who are trained in different fields of expertise, the ����logo��� – Eye Centre has performed for the first time many new procedures, such as vision correction by laser, cataract surgery with phacoemulsification, the transplant of cornea, the keratoconus treatment, the vitreo-retinal surgery, etc.

Amedical staff composed of local and foreign experts conducts every patient treatment and intervention with high professionalism and responsibility.

According to Dr. Ismail Halilit, the Eye Center at the ����logo��� has success fully engaged in the most difficult surgery procedures, such as that involving the cataract and retina and has used the most up-to-date methodologies and equipment for the vision correction treatment by Lasik/Lasek.

Likewise,it is since two months that such a center has performed many successfulvitreo-retinal interventions among local and foreign patients.

Prof.Dr. Ahmet Maden says he is quite happy that such medical advanced technology,especially the eye-related one, is now so close to the Albanian patients.

Here,we perform interventions that are quite recent in the field of ophthalmology,such as vitreous-retinal transplants, surgery of the retina and other traumas of the posterior chamber of the eye.”

06 April 2012 THE AMERICAN HOSPITAL IN KOSOVO OPENS ITS DOORS

Founded in 2006, the ����logo��� marked the first cornerstone of the private hospital service in Albania. The hospital started work with a team of 72 medical doctors, nurses and workers graduated or trained in Albania, Europe, Turkey and the United States and it counts now 700 workers who show greater experience and commitment.

In its early activities the Hospital focused on patients with cardiac issues from across Albania and the region. Currently, the hospital counts 2,300 patients who have been undergoing successful heart surgery treatment.

Three years ago, in March 2008, the ����logo��� increased the range of its services through the establishment of a polyclinic with 24 specialties which has assisted more than 120,000 patients until early 2012. The increased number of specialties enabled the Hospital to build new cooperation bridges with prestigious universities in the field of medicine, such as AKAHA in Vienna, Ankara University and others that proved useful in exchanging both professional and academic experience.

By November 2009, the American Medical Center in Fier was added to the group, whereas by February 2010, another such American Medical Center was established in Durres. Based in two of the biggest cities of Albania, both centers have served as a reference in terms of medical diagnosis and imagery and have further contributed to reduce the burden of patients under hemodialysis, who now receive such service closer to their places of residence.

March 2011 marked the opening of the ����logo��� 2, the biggest investment of the group’s shareholders in Albania. These, however, are not the only fields of activity. The Prishtina-based ����logo��� is a general medical facility that provides most of its services on a 24/7 basis, including Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Pediatrics and Neonatology, Urology, ORL, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery 24h ER, as well as all the supporting services (laboratory, imagery, pathology etc).
